Introduction

Rochdale Dawah Centre is always looking for committed and enthusiastic volunteers who want to make a difference and to help build and strengthen the dawah efforts in Rochdale.

A volunteer plays an important role within the centre, complementing the work of staff and enabling us to enrich, improve and extend the range of services offered to the community. People may volunteer for a whole range of reasons. They may be retired, looking for work experience, or wanting a career break.

How much time do volunteers have to give?

The amount of time volunteers give is their choice. All volunteers’ time is valuable and can make a difference. Many of our volunteers have very busy lives and still manage to find time to help others. Most volunteers commit to three hours a week for twelve months or more.

No activity is too small. Our Prophet Muhammad (whom Allah’s peace be) said:

“Do good deeds properly, sincerely and moderately and know that your deeds will not make you enter Paradise, and that the most beloved deed to Allah is the most regular and constant even though it were little.” [Bukhari]

• Writers to produce short articles about Islam and Muslims in UK for our blog
